Deciphering the response of thirteen apple cultivars for growth, fruit morphology and fruit physico-chemical attributes during different years

Apple cultivation is one of the most significant means subsistence in Kashmir region northwestern Himalayas. It considered as backbone region's economy. dominated by a late maturing cultivar “Red Delicious” which usually on maturity causes glut market. In order to bring new cultivars cultivation, and expand season, it necessary evaluate fruit physico-chemical attributes ultimately decide market rates before recommending farmers for adoption. Therefore, current study was carried out thirteen apple over two years, 2017 2018 under agro-climatic conditions The results revealed that differed significantly terms properties. Cultivars with highest lowest values initial set, drop, final retention, firmness did not follow same trend 2018. During 2018, Mollie's Delicious possessed length (72.39 mm 81.45 mm), diameter (81.18 84.14 weight (205.85 g 247.16 g), whereas Baleman's Cider had (50.76 52.83 mm, 60.10 62.08 71.46 86.94 respectively. harvesting dates were quite spread during both years study.
